Lydia Rye

Influencing Officer

Lydia Rye

Lydia is the Influencing Officer for Lloyds Bank Foundation and works to support grantees to develop their influencing skills. This includes a mixture of practical support, exploring new funding models and working with other funders to strengthen the sector for those working in influencing & campaigns.

She is a former Senior Organiser for Citizens UK where she oversaw civil society alliances in West London, Nottingham & the Maun Valley. She developed a pedagogy for new Organiser formation and has trained hundreds of leaders in the tools of Community Organising. Lydia has worked on countless campaigns from mental health to housing and is proudest of her work with Nottingham Citizens to see misogyny recognised as a motivator for hate crime for the first time internationally and with local community groups following the Grenfell Tower fire in West London.  In her spare time she loves to host, watch trashy tv and escape to the beach and is a trustee for a new (and as yet unnamed) women’s organising project as well as regional organiser for The Dinner Party who provide grief support over bring and share dinners for people in their 20s&30s.
