Reemer Bailey

Development Associate

Reemer joined the organisation in July 2022 bringing over 40 years of community development experience from working with organisations including Age UK, Creative Lives, Barnardo's, Groundwork NE & Cumbria, Arts Council England, The National Lottery Community Fund, Copeland Borough Council, Bolton at Home, The Alnwick Garden, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure and Building Futures East.

She was invited to become a Fellow of the RSA for her “outstanding contribution to education, access and inclusion”. Reemer came to the Foundation to support its work in whatever way she can.

Her specific interests are in addressing the root causes of social inequity and believes working at the Foundation may present an opportunity to ‘nudge’ systems change through deep, constructive, disruptive thinking, practice, and collective action.

Her approaches include – cultural and community development, community listening, community organising, community empowerment through relational working, deep democracy and developing cultural commons methods.

In her home in Northumberland her other activities include creating and supporting free access to music education, animal rescue and rehabilitation, martial arts and plant-based living.
