PLEASE NOTE: Our larger grant making programme, formerly known as Invest grants, is now closed for applications until November — sign up to receive an alert when applications reopen. We are still accepting applications to our Enable programme until 31 August. For more information, refer to our Funding Timetable.
We fund charities
Every year we make grants to hundreds of small and local charities, investing in their work helping people overcome complex social issues across England and Wales.
In our new strategy we promised to reach further with our grant making, to make sure we funded charities for longer, with more money and fewer restrictions on how you spend it.
We also promised to make applying for grants as quick and easy for you as possible, so we’ve closed applications for our larger grants until November, while we refine and simplify our processes.

What We Fund
We fund work which helps people aged 17+ overcome these complex social issues. Please click on the boxes below for further information on the type of work we are looking to fund.
Our Funding Programmes
We offer two grant programmes, one for larger, core costs and one for developing your charity, called Enable grants. Our larger grant making programme is now closed until November, however our Enable grants are open until 31 August. You cannot apply for both programmes.
Through Enable grants we fund opportunities for your charity to develop, or trial new approaches to service delivery, so you can become more effective in your work. You may want to improve your charity’s capability in areas such as business development and planning, monitoring, leadership and governance and communications; an Enable grant could put your charity in a stronger position to deliver services and attract more volunteers, funding and support.
We can provide up to a total of £15,000 across one or two years.
Applications for Enable grants are open until 31 August.Find out more
