We fund charities
Every year we make grants to hundreds of small and local charities, investing in their work helping people overcome complex social issues across England and Wales.
In our new strategy we promised to reach further with our grant making, to make sure we funded charities for longer, with more money and fewer restrictions on how you spend it.
We also promised to make applying for grants as quick and easy for you as possible, so we’ve closed applications for our larger (Invest) grants until September, while we refine and simplify our processes.

What We Fund
We fund work which helps people aged 17+ overcome these complex social issues. Please click on the boxes below for further information on the type of work we are looking to fund.
Our Funding Programmes
We provide long-term funding for the day-to-day running of your charity (core costs), and/or the direct delivery of your charity’s work. These are known as Invest grants.
We provide a minimum of £30,000 to a maximum of £100,000, delivered across three years. There is also the opportunity for continuation funding, so your charity could be funded by our Invest grant for up to six years in total.
We accept applications for Invest grants in set annual rounds, so please see our Funding Timetable page for more information.Find out more
Through Enable grants we fund opportunities for your charity to develop, or trial new approaches to service delivery, so you can become more effective in your work. You may want to improve your charity’s capability in areas such as business development and planning, monitoring, leadership and governance and communications; an Enable grant could put your charity in a stronger position to deliver services and attract more volunteers, funding and support.
We can provide up to a total of £15,000 across one or two years.
Applications for Enable grants are open on an ongoing basis.Find out more
