Since 2015, we have run a Trading and Sustainability programme for charity leaders in partnership with the School of Social Entrepreneurs. This independent evaluation by m2 shares key findings on how the course has helped charities successfully develop new streams of income.

The programme supported participants to develop confidence and skills across four key areas:

  1. Business skills and entrepreneurialism – including income generation and innovation.
  2. Leadership and emotional resourcefulness – including resilience and persistence through
    adversity.
  3. Networks and networking skills – maintaining professional and personal supportive
    networks.
  4. Social impact measurement – understanding and measuring impact.

Impact of the programme on them and their organisation:

  • 89% agreed that the programme enabled a more entrepreneurial mindset
  • 66% agreed that they were better placed to measure their organisational income
  • 51% agreed that they developed new income streams as a result of the programme.
