9 volunteers, 100s of charities upskilled

Lloyds Banking Group colleagues across different parts of the business came together to help EVA with AI - not just for themselves, but for community organisations across Enfield.

EVA (Enfield Voluntary Action) works to strengthen hundreds of voluntary and community organisations across the town, helping local people in countless ways. Like many organisations, they knew AI held huge potential, but that there was also a lot of concern about the best ways to harness it safely.

9 Lloyds Banking Group colleagues across different parts of the business came together to help EVA with:

  • Developing an AI strategy and policy
  • Running education sessions for EVA’s member organisations
  • Easy to understand learning resources.

The pilot volunteer project helped EVA:

  • Give AI confidence to 100s of local charities
  • Increase their capacity to use AI safely and responsibly
  • Apply for funding to support AI initiatives and training for community groups.

Lloyds Banking Group has learned from this partnership, and have now rolled out AI webinars specially tailored to support even more charities embrace the technology.

I found the skills exchange to be a catalyst for EVA's learning and development in the area of AI.

We produced policies and training courses, which will be shared with charities in Enfield and across the UK, benefitting hundreds of community projects.

The volunteers were so knowledgeable, patient and helpful; and we would not have had access to these skills without the programme.

Jo Ikhelef, Chief Executive of Enfield Voluntary Action (EVA)
