Boosting the giving of money
The research is clear. Match funding is one of the most powerful tools out there for incentivising donations. In 2025, Lloyds Banking Group colleagues used this to great effect. From raffles to auctions, Harry Potter marathons to Bridgerton Balls, we matched their fundraising efforts with £1.64 million – every penny of which went to the charities they fundraised for.
Boosting the giving of time
Across the country, volunteering rates are falling. But in 2025, we grew our Skills Based Volunteering Programme by 40%, adding 340 new volunteers to help a total of 131 community organisations build long-term resilience.
The purpose of our partnership with Lloyds Banking Group is to ensure more people in England and Wales are in a good place. And it does.
- Community organisations rated their experience with our volunteer Skills Exchange scheme 4.75/5.
- 89% of community organisations attending our Charity Response Forums said the volunteers met their needs.
But our partnership also helped Group colleagues give back, learn new skills, and become more productive and engaged at work. In 2025:
- 83% of Skills Exchange volunteers said their skills improved.
- 89% of Skills Exchange volunteers said they were likely to volunteer again.
“I’d really encourage people to volunteer with the Foundation because your problem solving and coaching skills will grow exponentially.”

Lloyds Banking Group colleagues also got stuck in volunteering with other charities: sorting donations, leading youth activities, undertaking governance roles on PTAs and as trustees, ran camps, and coached all kinds of sports clubs.
In 2025, we boosted more than 26,500 hours of volunteering time through Matched Funding, making donations to the charities that colleagues made a difference with. That was almost 1,000 hours more than the year before.
